Postdoctoral Research [Funding] Opportunities:
  • The Minion Post Doc has some great resources on the web, Twitter & Facebook
  • David H. Smith Conservation Research Fellowship - collaborate with an academic and a field mentor to do well-funded conservation research for 2 years
  • The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) sometimes has postdocs
  • The National Science Foundation (NSF) has several postdoctoral research fellowship opportunities, where you work with an academic mentor to co-create a proposal. They are often discipline-specific, e.g. in Social Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE),  and the Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Biology (PRFB)
  • The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM)'s Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship for 1 year (Ford Foundation also has other fellowships too!)
  • Some professors will advertise for specific postdoctoral positions because they have funding.
  • Another way to find postdocs is to reach out directly to professors whose research interests you and have a conversation about the potential to do a postdoc. Sometimes they'll find funding for you to do a 1-2 year postdoc with them!
